Pastor Randy Chivers
I gave my life to Christ in 1999. My life was, as many are without Jesus, in chaos. I was drinking, doing drugs, and my marriage was failing. A friend asked me to a guy’s night at his house. I didn’t realize it was a bible study. So, I sat and listened to the conversation, and when it was over, the guys prayed over me. I felt something happen but didn’t know what. They invited me to church, and that weekend, I decided to let God into my life. Within a few months, I was in the choir, in a group, and I was off and running the life God had intended for me.
I can’t say the call to ministry was clear early on. But I knew God had something more for me to do. I realized God was starting to call me one day as I sat listening to the sermon. As the pastor delivered the message, I started to imagine how I would deliver it if it were my sermon. In the course of time, I got a chance to teach adult bible study. I taught two separate topics twice a week for the first couple of months. I was in bible research boot camp. God opened up some opportunities to preach, and the calling became more intense. In between all of this, I was able to lead home groups, serve on the church board, spend a term as treasurer, serve in the kid’s ministry, lead worship, and greet people when they came to church.
After a fast and time in prayer, God confirmed to my wife Angie and I to start a church. Our heart is to reach people, connect them to God, and help them live their best life.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. John 10:10
Office and Facilities Manager Bob Christman
I gave my life to Christ in 1984. I was in the Marine Corps on a Mediterranean Cruise and attended a Worship and Bible study group led by a fellow Marine Sergeant. One of the biggest challenges for me, like any new Christian, was connecting with mature fellow believers who could guide me on my new journey. I bought my first Bible and began reading God’s word, praying for His guidance.
Several years later after joining the V.B.P.D., I was working the midnight shift and searching for a church home. I attended a service on the National Day of Prayer at KPC, and as I was leaving the service I clearly felt God telling me in that parking lot that KPC was where he wanted me to serve. It was at KPC that I got my start in Media and the Worship Arts, and I never looked back. I knew this type of service is what God had called me to.
My wife and I enjoy time with our adult children, as well as our grandchildren.
In addition to Office and Facilities Manager, I currently serve as the Media Director, and Webmaster.
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Psalm 139:23

As John says of writing about Jesus’ many works and miracles, “The whole world could not contain the books that would be written”. Such is also true of the testament to His great hand over my life. I’ve had a constant relationship with God throughout my whole life.
Scripture tells us, “He knew us before he knit us in the womb”. Most people go through life slowly becoming separated from that relationship and hopefully encounter it once again, where they will holdfast to that moment.
Then there are others like myself, who never released that relationship with Him. I have suffered the pains of this world since I was just a baby, yet the Lord is near to the brokenhearted. My first encounter with Jesus, that I can remember was as a toddler. It is a long and heart wrenching story I would love to share with you one day.
All I know and can testify to is that He has always been with me and I have never tried to place him in a box. Staying in his presence through his word and in prayer brings my heart peace and comfort. There is nothing like it! Give it a try and watch Him move in your life as well!
Fun facts about me:
I am a mother of six babies (They’ll always be my babies)
I love to garden and have way more animals than humans! Which probably makes me a Suburban Homesteader
Cast iron and Wooden spoons are my joy
I can actually remember praying for everything that I have and am quite literally “walking in miracles”
I was born in NC but have lived in VA since the late 80’s early 90’s •Also -Completely indecisive when asked to choose a favorite of something!
